Dr. Sharad Chandra is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiology at King George's Medical University (KGMC), Lucknow. Dr. Chandra had completed his initial medical studies (MBBS and MD) from this very institution in 1999 and 2004 respectively. He also has a postdoctoral DM (Cardiology) degree from AIIMS New Delhi, which he received in 2008.
In addition to teaching undergraduate, postgraduate and postdoctoral students, Dr. Sharad Chandra attends to inpatients and outpatients and works in the Cath Lab, performing several Angiographies, Angioplasties and Pacemaker Implantations, 3-4 times a week.
He also regularly performs Trans-Septal Procedures and Percutaneous Mitral Balloon Valvotomies. He is also experienced in Swan-Ganz procedures, Intra Aortic Balloon Insertions and basic Electrophysiology, as well as implanting ICDs and Biventricular Pacemakers. Dr. Chandra spends time in the non-invasive lab twice a week, supervising the routine Trans-Thoracic Echo procedures and performing some Trans-Oesophageal procedures himself.
Dr. Sharad Chandra has published a number of cardiology-related papers in indexed and non-indexed journals and authored a couple of book chapters. He is a regular participant at cardiology conferences and has served as faculty or made presentations and delivered guest lectures on many occasions.
