Use
It is used to treat high blood pressure, chest pain due to poor blood flow to the heart, and a number of conditions involving an abnormally fast heart rate, also used to prevent further heart problems after myocardial infarction and to prevent headaches in those with migraines.
Common Side Effect
Include dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, diarrhea, trouble sleeping, depression, and vision problems.
Precaution
Smoking and alcohol should be avoided as it may worsen the side effect, avoid high salt or high sodium intake in meals. Avoid if you have a slow heart rate, problems with blood circulation, or pheochromocytoma (a tumor that develops on a gland near the kidneys and may cause high blood pressure and fast heartbeat), should not be used during pregnancy.

Use
It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and congestive heart failure. By inhibiting an enzyme, ACE inhibitors relax the muscles around small arteries (arterioles). The arterioles expand and allow blood to flow through more easily. This reduces blood pressure.
Common Side Effect
Includes shakiness, dry cough, dizziness, fatigue, especially in the early stages, nausea, fainting.
Precaution
If you have diabetes, do not use ramipril together with any medication that contains aliskiren, avoid if you have kidney disease (or if you are on dialysis), liver disease, diabetes, do not use if you are pregnant.
