Use
Promethazine is used to treat Allergy symptoms such as itching, runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, hives & itchy skin rashes. It also prevents motion sickness, and treats Nausea & Vomiting or pain after surgery.
Common side effects
Drowsiness, Dizziness, Tired feeling, sleep problems, Feeling nervous, Dry mouth.
Precaution
Precaution should be taken by patients with Heart diseases, Epilepsy, Gluocoma & Liver problems.
Class of Drug - 1st Generation Anti-histamine (Phenothiazine family)
Route of Administration - Oral, Rectal, IV, IM, Topical
Bioavailability - 88% absorbed but after first-pass metabolism reduced to 25% absolute bioavailability
Biological Half Life - 16-19 Hours

Use
Pholcodine is a Cough Suppressant (Antitussive). It is used to relieve only Dry & Tickly coughs that do not produce any mucus (Phlegm).
Common side effect
Dizziness, Nausea, Vomiting, Constipation, Drowsiness, Excitation & respiratory depression.
Precaution
Pholcodine may cause Drowsiness, so it may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.
