Use
Thyroxine is used to treat thyroid hormone deficiency (Hypothyroidism). Its tablet is similar in structure to the hormone naturally produced by the thyroid gland. It provides more thyroid hormones and relieves the symptoms of tiredness, weight gain, and depression.
Common Side Effect
Enlarged thyroid gland, Irregular menstrual cycle, Goiter, Difficulty in sleeping, Altered heart rate, Abdominal pain, Fever, Diarrhoea, Increased blood pressure,Tremor, Chest pain, Nervousness.
Precaution
Thyroxine is not recommended in people who have had a recent Heart attack.
